Titans Prepare for Specialized High School Test

Ten Titan 8th Graders and one 7th grader participated in the Titan's first test prep course. The program took place over a 4 week period and each student received 6 hours per week of rigorous training and instruction on the key elements of the test. The program was delivered by a group of 3 professional educators: Matt Moran (Titan Academic Dean) and Anthony Brown & Karim Roberts of Righteous Minds (an academic consulting firm). The program appears to have been a huge success, with students registering an average increase of 30% on actual practice tests!

Titans Welcome Mr. Matt as Academic Dean
The Titans are proud to welcome Matt Moran, known to the students in the program as “Mr. Matt”, as our Academic Dean (“AD”). As the AD, Matt will be responsible for coordinating the Titan’s test prep, tutoring and summer enrichment curriculums.
“Mr. Matt” endeared himself to the Titans during his tenure as the lead instructor in the Titan Academy Summer Program. Prior to working with the Titans, Matt taught middle school and high school mathematics in NYC public schools, and lead several tutoring programs in Boston. Matt is a graduate of Boston University with a B.A. in Economics and is working towards an advanced degree in Mathematics and Teaching.
Our Philosophy
It is the goal of the Titan Program to create better outcomes for the youth we serve. Academics have always been important to us, but we are building our capacity to provide tutoring, test prep and other academic counseling services for the youth in our programs.
