Titans Receive Grant from Independence Community Foundation

The Titans received a seed grant from Independence Community Foundation to support its baseball and girls softball programs. The grant will be used to  purchase equipment for the
program. Independence Community Bank has been a long-time supporter of the Titan program and the Titans thank them for their support!

Titans Honor Long-Time Supporter

The Titans recognized Mr. Steve Lefkowitz as its first Gold Donor, presenting him with the Titans own version of the Heisman Trophy. The trophy features a hand painted replica of the Titan uniform emblazoned with Mr. Lefkowitz’ high school football jersey number (#48). 

Steve, President of hedge fund CI Capital, has supported the football team for the last 4 years, contributing in excess of $20,000, and was instrumental in assisting the Titans in raising the funds necessary to send the 12 & Under football team to Florida in 2007 to compete in the National Championship Tournament.  Steve Lefkowitz is a real Titan Hero.
Titans Get Grant From Argo

Thanks to the work of Martha Butler, parent of Titan baseball player Josh Rios, we received a grant of $3,000 from Argo Financial.  The grant will help
support the baseball and other Titan sports progams. Thanks Martha!
Titans Get $2,000 Grant from Partnership for Parks for 7 & Under Football & Cheer Program

Partnership for Parks provided the Titans with their second grant for the FREE 7 & under football & cheer program. This year the Titans expect to serve over 60 girls and boys in the program.

program. As Vice President, Ms. Croker will be taking a leadership role in fundraising and event planning, in addition to her other responsibilities as the Director of the Titan Cheer & Step Team.
On Sunday 4/19 Brown Memorial Baptist Church recognized Coach Bill Solomon for his work with the youth in the community. The presentation took place during Brown Memorial's 11am service.

Titans Receive $15K Software Grant

The Titans were chosen as one of several not for profits to receive a $15,000/year donatoin of software services from Salesforce.com. Salesforce is an industry leading provider of customer relationship managment tools for major companies around the world. The donated software will enable the Titans to better manage volunteers, program participants, and funders.
Coach Solomon was nominated for the award by Kim Beck, mother of Jarrett Belfast, a long-time Titan. Titans present for the occassion, and pictured above included Jarret Belfast & Jonathan Hayes, members of the church, and Coach Bill's two children, Tre and Jillian Solomon.
Titans Kim Croker Awarded Volunteer Award

Titan Vice President and Cheer/Step Director Kim Croker was awarded the Robert Acito Award for Youth Involvement for the work she does with the Titan program. The award was presented at a ceremony held on May 13th at the CB6 meeting held at PS 32. Ms. Croker was supported at the function by her two sons, Jacob and Lloyd, and a host of neighborhood supporters and Titan family members
Annonymous Donor Makes
Gatorade Gift

A donor who wishes to remain annonymous has made a gift of coolers, water bottles and enough Gatorade to supply the Titans for the 2009 football season. The donor was impressed with the caliber of youths in the Titan program and wanted to help.
Titan Wrestlers Capture Medals at City Championships &
Titans Presented with Trophy for Winning Team Conference Championship

Titan Wrestlers Devin Rose, Jacob Jones and Jarrett Belfast captured medals at the Beat the Streets City-Wide Championships. The tournament was held on May 19th at City College. Jones and Belfast placed second in their weight classes in the Novice Division, and Rose placed fourth in his weight class in the Varsity Division.

Other wrestlers competing at the tournament were: Isaiah Dugan, Ra Sheen Wilson, Tre Solomon, Malik Fisher and James Dunston.

The Titans were also presented with a trophy for winning the conference dual meet championhsip during the regular season. Congratulations Titans!
